I have been there man, I felt like just deleting the account and being done with the forum, but then I realized that I don't want to cut ties with some of the friends I made here on the Forum. The best advice I can give to you is use the site in moderation, don't go on every day that way you don't feel inclined to help everyone so you can't be criticized. Secondly take everything you read and then read it a second time. Many people, including myself, have a first reaction to get defensive when people respond to something written, but since this is text only and you don't know the tone some one is trying to get across some messages that you first read and feel they are attacking you, if read again can be seen just as helpful advice. Don't let the nay-sayers get to you, let the haters hate just keep herping and feeling great! ;p

It's easy to misinterpret people's inflection through text but in that case it can still be handled cordially. If you're so upset though maybe another forum would be better for you.

Come on brush your shoulders off.... but you are entitled all the way to leave but I say all you need is a damn break, visit us after months if not years and see if you wanna say hi...

Now ferret we all have our days, give him time , you know as well as I do it takes a lot of choking on humble pie to get used it;).... Out of many forums you know this one is far kinder than most.

Perfect example of misinterpreting I think. ;) I wasn't trying to tell him to leave, I was just saying maybe he's sick of us here and needs a break. We all do at some point and after I spend some time on other forums I want to come back since I know people better here and really do enjoy being here. Maybe once he spends some time elsewhere he'll want to return. That's all I was saying...

Dont just pack up your toys and go home. It's the interwebs man. Just take a break for a little while and come back. Seriously.

lol i know, i didnt misinterpret:D, and i know you always mean well:), lol but like you and me, we dont always say what we mean in the literal sense soemtimes we say things cut off or rather figuratively, i forget sometimes poeple may not catch on to that, so i try tokeep it as literal as possible , most of the time:rolleyes: (i.e: humble pie:rolleyes:). Like all problems with forum interpretation. Different people see different things in context, let alont tone and facial expressions(glad no one sees that:p)

"If you're so upset though maybe another forum would be better for you."

i knew what you meant, but will everyone know/understand it?,

idk, i rather i sorta point it out then someone that doesnt know you and wants to bump heads with you, and i know you dont want that.

all in all we all what phil to stay, he is amusing and he would be great at helping around in the forums

Phil, you're my best mate on here :) - I don't want you to go.........but you know the score, and you know you can be back anytime, and you know that everyone gets arrogant/ dismissive / accidentally offensive sometimes (online or not ;))
Anyway, I can't add much else. Regardless of what anyone else says, respect is due

I've thought about leaving the forums MULTIPLE times but then again I don't post much on here anymore.

I'll miss you man! Just remember that Haters gonna Hate and Potatoes gonna Potate. :D

I like how this guys says outtie, then replies to posts.

Why did you change your name anyways?

Does it matter? I really don't see the point of your comment other than to incite more arguments.

Perfect example right here Phil, you just brush em off and keep doing your thing.

I agree with the brush 'em off comments, but I also think it's hard for certain comments to be construed the right way over the internet. For example, one of the first things you said to me was asking me if my job or photos that I posted of myself were "appropriate" for the forums. Although I am sure you were in jest, it did come off the wrong way and really pissed me off for a hot second...but I am used to people blanching at my choice of job.

I try to double check what I write, although when i am tired my comments come off a bit heated and angry. Don't leave - you really do provide good advice and have helped me out with the advice you've given. After all, it's JUST a forum. No one is getting any resume experience on here, so just grin and bear it. :)
