Im new and need pointers

I personally think it would be a good deal for the time being, you're going to need a bigger enclosure than that. But for a short time that cage would be satisfactory until you want to get something close to a reptibreeze. And yes but you would want more foliage than that. A lot more. Idk how large of a live plant you could fit in there but it would take up a ton of the room and then you can add more foliage. So besides the food and things you listed that would be a partially full set up.

The cons of the reptarium: 1) zippered, it's a hassle to open 2) can't support too much weight up top for fixtures, drippers, etc 3) not great visibility of the interior (what I've heard).

With that said, there are members that use them and have success with them,,,

Ive never owned a reptile before. Ive owned fish, and a dog. So im very new to something like this. I like the idea of a chameleon because they just seem neat. Im probally going to a pet store to take a look at one and stuff but i would like to get some knowledge before hand. I need to have a list of everything i need to take care of it like Food, Habitat, Cage, Lights, Care. I dont want to get ripped off on the cage and everything so can maybe someone help me know whats a good deal and stuff. I would like to know what breed would best suit a beginner. I would prefer something that i could keep in a smaller cage. I like the Jackson Chameleon, I dont know if that would suit me though. So if your a nice person who can help please feel free to help me:).

Pygmy chameleons need less space that most.

The not being able to hold the fixtures would be my concern, you do not want the reptarium to collapse onto your chameleon and they in my opinion seem like they would be flimsy. If I were you personally, this is a good deal, but buying a better enclosure would be my first thing to worry about. Or you could buy the better one the first time.

I would buy a ficus and some more foilage. Im looking at baby veiled chem's and they look cool. It seems to be more of a starter chem too. i was look at these LINK. Im gonna call the company about this but would i be able to feed it crickets as a baby?

Yes but you may have to get pinheads(crickets in their first week of development are referred to as pinheads). There are also some alternatives to pinheads like flightless fruit flies. I just learned of it today that you can also use bean beetles as well. I mean you could also if he is large enough when you get him feed him small crickets which I think the measurement is 1/2 inch crickets.

Isnt the reptibreeze a reptarium? the way i put buying the package is i basically get what i need right away, Im planning on doing spray instead of drip, And i assume the cage will hold the lights so i think the cage will be sufficient. and when time comes to get a bigger cage i will buy a better one thats bigger.

You need both the misting(just hand mist) as well as the dripper. And no the reptarium is a zipper mesh cage while a Repti-Breeze is a full screen cage with an opening door and bottom panel. They are very useful. But yes I understand where you are coming from, but it may be worth the money that you are going to spend anyway to get something similar to the Repti-Breeze.

Two totally different cages. The reptibreeze is an aluminum framed enclosure and the reptarium is a PVC framed enclosure with a mesh covering that zippers up...

perfect! Im probally going to go with the cage package and the baby veiled chameleon. Im just not sure if you can choose boy or girl. I would prefer boy. Do the veiled chameleons have a good range of colors they can change too? Are they fast at all?

I am pretty sure you can leave a note on whether you want a male or a female when you order. But Yes i think they do. I really love male Veiled chameleons although I have a female. There colors are gorgeous. here is a link for you to see that I picked out of a male Veiled Chameleon

http://www.google.com/imgres?q=Male...=180&start=8&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:8,i:152 This is just some of the color they can get, it all varies on the Sire(dad) and the Mother of the chameleon.

can you give me a link on what nutrients i will need for the chameleon. Also with the cage package i showed you does that include all the lighting i need for it. ?
