I'm so sorry Monty

I had to put down Monty today. The vet said that while we could attempt treatment, he believed it would just be prolonging his suffering. The gout was everywhere and the vet doubted his kidneys would have held up under the medicines, combined with the stress of administering them.



I wish his story had a different outcome. I wish his previous owners had done their research. I wish many things, but in the end they didn't really help Monty. I can only hope that he enjoyed the care I gave him for these past few months, but I worry that he was in pain this whole time and I just couldn't see it.

My vet will be doing a necropsy, so I hope to have more answers in the coming weeks.

It was definitely very hard. I've only had him for a few months, but I grew so attached to him. I was always hoping he would pull through. He deserved a much better life than he got.
