I am currently building a new tank for my veiled chameleon, Mia, it is a metre high by 400 deep, by 600 wide, what size UVB bulb should I use? Or is it suitable to use not compact but 2 small tubed UVB bulb in the roof of viv? I am also going to be using a 75 watt bulb.
Any advice please, Thanks :0)

Were in the UK, the screen on the sides is fly mesh, and the back is ply and the front is glass.

psshhhhhtttt alll ive herd is reflection this and that.... honestly.... i think its just all glass encosure and lack of moving air..... cause my guy with sleep leaning on the plexiglass door..... and sit all day looking at him self...

:| Would you like to see what happens to MOST chameleons when they see their reflection? Some get so STRESSED! Read the facts.. don't just base it all on YOUR cham.

Mine do fabulous in all glass. Never had any problems. the ones in glass have been there two years.

Well its not glass on all sides, only the door. We want to have nice visablity. She is currently in a glass tank at the moment and she never gets stressed looking at herself! Thanks for your comment, but actually I wasnt asking about glass...I asked about the UVB bulb.

I would use the long tube UVB light.....one would be cheaper to buy than 2. If your cage is really big you could get the double fixture that holds 2 bulbs. Hope this helps! Jann

yes and get the 5.0 rated ones dont get the 10.0 spectrum

Some may say if the cage is big enough. thats rubbish. even the manufacturers warn of using lighting outside of the normal spectrum range because it may be bad for your guys health. to make up for lack of UVB purchase more 5.0's, and place them around the cage to get full coverage =)
