Info on Bug

Wondering if anyone knows what this is, and if it is safe to feed. I am not asking about risk of parasites or pesticides. Just info on the insect.

I agree with JaxyGirl. That is what I thought it was as well. I would personally avoid feeding it.

Water scorpion. They are aquatic and apparently can bite, though after handling them many times, I was never bitten. Release into some water.

They are really cool insects. I used to have a planted aquarium setup that I dedicated to aquatic insects. They are ferocious when they hunt. Amazing to watch!!
