This is the first time my Chameleon "Jewel" is laying eggs. She dug her hole sometime yesterday, when I got home from work she had dug a hole land a tunnel in the wet sand and was inside. (About 6pm). When we woke up this morning she is still in the hole. I can see from the side of the bin that she is moving, but can't see much. How long should it take for her to lay the eggs and come out. Should I be Concerned?

some girls will sleep in teh hole, its normal.
it can take 3+ days for them to finish laying.
just let her be, dont let her see you spying, and shell bury them when shes ready to.

Thank you so much for answering me, I was getting concerned!!! No more spying and I will just let her be. Is it OK to shut her lights off at night? I left on her heat lamp last night in case she wanted to come out of the hole. You put my mind at easy..... thanks again!!

lights off at night like normal.
my female started digging around 4 pm one day, and slept in her hole that night. its all normal.

very welcome. it can be stressful, but she knows what shes doing.

and yea if she catches you spying, she may stop digging, and that can lead to egg binding.
