Instacage

Seriously? I watched the video and it seemed to snap together alright but I would think if you had something big and strong in there it might be able to push its way out.

The magnets in them are very strong. I have a bunch of them and have used them for a while. They hold up well and are very functional and are awesome when it comes to cleaning. There are some issues with the spline (from the initial choice of manufacturer) but that is being resolved. The company that distributes them is located here in Chicago and they are often at our local show (next one is Feb. 6). If you want one, send me a pm (so that you don't have to pay for shipping).

Julie (chams1) uses them.
I do not own any but had a booth next to her last year and got to check them out.
Great to store as well as they easily break down and don't take up much space.
I need to get some for shows .... would be much easier than lugging a bunch of constructed screen cages (what I do now)
I would have no worries using one as a permanent enclosure.

I keep live plants in all of my instacages and you can pick them up from the top (along with the weight of the plants) and they hold together just fine. I have never had one come apart.

Man im glad you asked about those. I meant to get on here and ask myself after i saw them. Like You i was worried about them holding together with all the weight. The small size would be awesome for a baby cage and hey are reasonable so you could set up a few of em.

cool cage! It seems too small for chameleons though. If someone did that for a larger cage, it would be awesome.

They have a larger one that is 17x17x26. Someone sold these on the forum last year, if I remember. I got one as an emergency cage if I need to evacuate. I would imagine it would be great for shows, because set up and storage is convinient.

We have used them, however because of several issues with them we no longer do. We are not trying to bag on them at all however; I would recommend getting a cage sold by LLL or like company, or even a DIY cage. I really like the idea of the cage however I like things that last better.

I would like to know what thoes issues were. I am very curious about this product it looks to be very unique =]

I want more info please

As stated before we had the spline pop out letting loose the screen, we also had a problem with the alignment of the holes, out of the 10 cages we originally purchased 4 I had to use screws to secure it together, just about all of the remaining units had the magnets pop out at one time or another.

We have been in contact with them about our issues and they are working to improve the product ASAP, hopefully soon they will be on par quality wise.

Yes, all these are issues that they have been working to correct. The original person who invented this cage (a gecko breeder here in Chicago) was initially doing all this by himself and, unfortunately, chose a really poor manufacturer in China which produced the problems that Chad mentioned. However, very soon after the first shipment came in from the manufacturer, Magnaforce Industries was created by a couple other people in Chicago familiar with the reptile industry and they took over production and distribution of the Instacage (and Instavines). They have been working with other manufacturers (here in the states) to revamp the cages and to try and come up with other similar products with the same concept in mind. I have had these same issues with a few of my cages, but the company will replace it if there are issues/problems. It is a fabulous idea and a good cage, minus those problems (although I have not had any issues with my cages except for some spline fraying here and there, but I have had mine for approx. 1.5 years).

So when the smooth out the rough edges so to speak, then they would be good for some babys and a bit older?

I use the smaller ones for baby cages and the size is great for them. Some/most of the cages are fine as is. It's just that there are like 1 out of every 10 or so cages, as Chad said, that have an issue (again, that was the crappy manufacturer's fault). If you get one of those, it can be replaced by the company.

I also just wanted to post 1 more time that I am not trying to be negative about them, like Julie said they got hosed by the manufacture in China, the people at the company itself are great.
