Introducing Dobby

Hi everyone,
I just thought I would share some pics of my new little guy Dobby. He's around five months old and I've had him for four days now. So far things are going well. He hasn't taken to cup feeding yet and so the only way I've been able to get him to eat is to hand feed him which he seems to be fine with. That way I know for sure that he is eating and I've also seen him drink so I'm not quite as stressed as I was the first two days:) These pictures are from yesterday.

I can tell by , no bulge at the base of the tail , coloration and being so small at 5 months. At 5 months there should at least be a hint of color. It is possibe she is younger but even at 2 months you can tell a male or female.

I would go as far as saying I am 100 % sure that is a female.

She is very cute ...

Lol, you always have a way of bursting the bubble Ryan. :p However, very informative at the same time. :)

My wife was just telling me I am always the one to break the "Its a girl" news. :D

This is a two month old male.

That is the flap you are looking at. Outside the circle is where the poop comes from. THe base of the tail after that is where the hemipenis is stored.

EDIT: sorry in the second pic the flap is included in the circle. ..

Amanda, The circle in that pic is a little big.

Look in the black circle I just added in the pic attached.

Your little girl is very cute. (there is no doubt that she is a girl) But personally I really like the personalities of female pathers :D Do you know what local she is?

See Ya,

Todd

Thanks for the explanation Ryan.
When I went back to the petstore the second time after reading up more on Panthers I wondered if he might be a she because he was so small, but I thought maybe he was just a little delayed or slowler developing but I guess not. She's been at the pet store since early December so is definately around five months and she doesn't have a lot of color, although she does have some red coming in under her chin. I bought her based on her easygoing, calm personality so I'm happy either way.

Thanks again:D

I'm glad you got such a cute girl. That's sad she'd been at the petstore so long. I'm glad you got her. She looks really healthy though, so hopefully the petstore was taking good care of her, even if they couldn't tell she was a girl :)
