The ONE panther that we owned looked a lot like him.
He was an ambanja, solid blue at purchase (he was a LTC, deparasitized animal). A few months later, he went from his solid blue-green to blue with red bars. about a year later, he went solid red - the most red I've ever seen in a panther - and it was his relaxed state.
and he stayed red till he died.
I've always had a preference for the blue ambanjas with red stripes. They have the best relaxed colors - I can care less about the flared up colors, I go by what they look like most of the time! Ambanjas take the cake in that area, most of the time.
