Hi, all! My husband and I have been a lurker for about two years on Cham Forums and after tons of research we decided to take the plunge and buy our first cham. Below is Fez, or ambi x cross from Screameleons. He's just over 5 months old and we've had him for two weeks now. We just wanted to introduce ourselves and share a photo of our new guy. Thanks! John & Paige

Thank you! I was wondering if anyone has attended the Repticon expo in Charlotte NC before? We are contemplating going to the show in two weeks. We would like to purchase an adult panther but we've never been to an expo before and don't know if there will be any adults avail? Anyone have any experience with expos?

how could you lurk for two years and wait that long!? lol!!! Well, welcome on board! He is a colorful little guy!

Thank you for your nice comments! We purchased him from Screameleons and couldn't be happier with the communication and service we've received from them. Even after you research for months, once you actually get your first cham there's a million questions you need immediate answers to! Fez has a little 'tude going on but he's spunky and healthy which is the most important. He shed from head to toe yesterday in a matter of hours. LOL! I hope that's "normal". His colors have changed quite a bit since that pic was taken. I will try to upload a recent pic over the weekend :) Thanks again everyone! Paige

Welcome... I don't know too much about the Charlotte expo, I go to the Repticon expo in Pensacola FL... On the Repticon website it has a list of all the vendors that will be there maybe you can check out their websites and ask them if they'll be bringing and adults... I went to the one in Pensacola last year and didn't see any adults mainly babies... But if you can contact one of the vendors they might just bring some? Wouldn't hurt to ask... I enjoy the shows you get to meet wonderful people and learn so much... I am going again this year...:)

welcome to the forums!!! you may be able to find an adult at expo's but most breeders take them to show their sire's to the public so they get a basic knowledge of what their baby boys will look like when they grow up. females are also good chams to be just be carefull cause some breeders will try and throw out some ailing chams or wild caught chams at a bargin price so make sure you ask all the questions that you want answered. if flchams is there seeing they are from the east coast they have some good lizards but they also have wc and wc are hard to climate to captive life plus you gotta worry about parasites. but you can still find some awesome good stuff just make sure you pic what ever looks the healthiest quarintine them till they make a poo poo to take into the vet to get it checked out. best of luck can't wait to see the new pics of your guy.

Agreed! lol I only managed to lurk for a couple months (maybe 1.5 months??) before I jumped in with both feet! Your guy is beautiful! Who is the sire? I got my Claude from Screameleons, he is one of Haze's babies! They are wonderful to deal with! Congrats!

We just wanted to say hello and introduce ourselves back, esp as we are also a Husband and wife user on this forum. Our names are Emma and Ken. We have been coming here for a lickle while silently, only recently started posting.
We enjoy coming online and reading up on other peoples experiences (esp reading and viewing the new baby photos)
We have found this forum to be a wealth of advice and helpful friendly people. Even what may seem the smallest or silliest questions we have, there's always someone willing to chat or give sound advice.
Looking forward to reading your posts, your baby is adorable, beautiful colors!
Welcome to you both :)

Welcome to the forum paigesc & armyrec1:) I have been to the Charlotte Repticon before and did not see any adult Chams for sale, thats not to say there will not be any at the next Repticon on 8/6-7. At the last show there were only a few vendors with Chams for sale; Jackson and Veiled but the health and condition of the ones I did see crammped together would have definitly made me look else-where:(?!?!? You are better off trying to find one from one of the forum Sponsers or a member of the forum in the classifieds. If you want to find one at an expo make palns to attend the 2011 Breeders Expo in Daytona, FLA on 8/20. Repticon in CLT is a great palce to buy feeders and supplies and I plan on going again next week; it's fun to look at what is out there and available!

Good Luck and welcome once again:)

reptile expo

I just went to the Reptile Expo Show in Myrtle Beach SC. I got 2 baby Veiled Chameleons there.. several vendors had adult and juveniles for sale. I saw an adult male Panther that was just amazing! Had such awesome colors!! I believe they said he was just under 2 years old. They had all sorts of kinds that I am not familiar with as I am new to chams, but for sure saw full grown adults for sale of several types, and from various vendors. Hope that helps =) And btw Fez is gorgeous!! :)
