Is a Giant Mealworm the same as a Superworm?

I believe as far as nutrition and chitin go superworms are better for the chameleon.

The mealworms are easy to feed off, be careful as the super worms bite, don't know if they can hurt your baby though.

No they are different. Giant mealworms still have a lot of chitin like regular mealworms.

While they're both larvae of darkling beetles, they are different species entirely.
Mealworms = Tenebrio molitor
Superworms = Zophobas morio

Thanks for all the responses. This blog explains it pretty good. My cham loves superworms (just a few a week as treats) but I haven't been able to find any recently.

I usually get mine from petsmart, because their superworms seem pretty good.
