Is Acer Griseum (paperbark maple) safe?

We have been trmiming up our trees recently, and I've been able to find out if most species are safe for chameleons, but I could find anything on acer griseum. I've read that most maple trees are safe, but I would like to make sure this one is. Has anybody used this species or know if it is safe?

Also, if anyone can verify that fig and apple wood are safe, that would be appreciated.

If the bark is peeling, loose, or papery, it is an ingestion hazard. None of those options are toxic, however.
