Is he a cap est?

Hi guys, here is a short story about Mixer:
We got him when he was just 6 weeks old and was sold to us as an ambilobe (he is 7 months old now). He had beaufiful red bars as a baby, but as he grew his body started to get bluish and his bars were slowly "fading". His colors are still changing. One day his background is blue, another day - more green, and when he's outside he is white with red bars. His bars are dark red, I think darker than ambilobe's red bars. Also if I'm seeing correctly his second bar is shaped in 'U', not in 'Y'.

I have posted a thread about him not so long time ago:

One of the members thinks he is a cap est panther, and I'm thinking that's highly possible. I would like to know what are others opinions about him. I planned to breed him, but we do not want to do that when we don't know what he acually is. So if you have any ideas please share them!

Pics: Pic nr2 - 3 months old, rest pictures was taken today after he saw himself in the mirrow for the first time (usually he doesn't have those black bars on his head)

After a post recently about cap est i did a little research on them and they are gorgeous animals and do look similar to your boy. The white background with red bars (deep red, blood red) is the way that cap est are suppose to fire up. Maybe post a couple of him fired up as well.

There is also this thread about cap est panthers not to long ago with some information!

Thank you, I've read that thread and looked at all pictures of cap est I could find in the internet. But I'm still not convinced 100%, because the breeder sold him as an ambi and he is still changing his colors. He doesn't really get fired up, that's why I used a mirrow today, but he only showed that black bars :(
I am not 100% sure but he sure is beautiful!!!
Thank you, I love him no matter what he is :)

I am 1 of very few who breed Cap Est, and IMO he looks very much like a youngster of this locale. The thread mentioned above is of one of the guys I had and is a classic Cap Est, exactly how they should look!

If it is your very very lucky!! That thread above is my cap est an I where lucky to get a good deal on mine as they normally cost a small fortune

Nosy Boraha you can tell by the U bar and colors are more boraha then cap

holy crap his pattern around his eye is GORGEOUS. I heard recently Chams can just lose their colour for no reason for months, maybe this could be what happened but instead of gray its blue?
