Is it ok to play music at night?

I used to play music when I was asleep, but I stopped after I got my chameleon a few months ago. Does it disrupt his sleeping habits or really have any adverse side-effects on him to play music at night?

Since he's new, and I take it you've never kept one before?
Could you fill out the form and let us know how you are keeping him/her?
Ferretinmyshoes has a very silly name, but she's training to be a vet, so we should be able to spot any potential problems for you before they happen............

i have a drumset in my room and a bass a and a guitar with amps..my band practises hear every now and then, i let my cham roam free on the top of the ceiling away from the vibrations..they are deaf and i have seen no change or effect on my cham.:D

how do you figure that takes away the vibrations?? i have a mesa half stack and drum set down stairs on the oposite side of the house and i can feel vibrations upstairs in my room.

and i personally dont think my house is garbage built lol, its a ranch but its sturdy lmao

Music will not bother it, but light would. It should be dark at night.
Correct.
I don't Dj in my room anymore because Im afraid of this
So do what I do, put the speakers up on blocks, cover the chameleon cage with a light sheet and check every now and again to make sure the vibrations don't wake anybody up........

I used to play music really loud in close proximity of my chameleons, but I had to put an end to it when they started wearing spiked leather wristbands, Metallica t-shirts and started to want to let their hair grow out.

He's a Jackson, male, I don't know how old he is as the store I got him at didn't know, I got him... early to mid-April so that would be 3-4 months I've had him, he's approximately 6 inches including the tail. How much I handle him depends on how often he seems to be upset with the Terrarium (attempting to climb the glass sides, prowling the edges, etc), at which point I take him out and let him decide if he wants in my hair or if he wants to roam my room. I feed him crickets, approximately 1 inch in length, I buy 10 every 3 days and set them in the terrarium, allowing him to hunt them down and eat them as he pleases... gut-loading? Umm... I don't buy supplements, are they really a necessity? it just seemed recommended. I have a spray bottle I bought for a dollar at Winco, it has a screw adjuster and I have it set to spray a cone of mist I estimate to be 45 degrees from the center of the spray to any of the outside edges, I mist the terrarium 4-7 times a day depending on how active he gets, I mist the entire area of the terrarium till the fake leaves have a nice amount of water on top of them (I'm upgrading to real plants from LLL reptile ASAP). His droppings are medium to dark brown, consistency semi-solid (don't know how to go into much more detail). He is currently in his third shed since I got him (he started shedding the day after I got him and he just started shedding two days ago)

The cage is glass with a mesh lid. dimensions are 10inW 20inL 12inH. Daylight light-bulb, don't know the Wattage, try to keep schedule as close to 7-7 that I can. Cage floor 78-84 degrees (no particular times for the fluctuation, I open my window for half an hour when the thermometer on my wall is approx. halfway between 80 and 90) Lowest overnight temp is 74 degrees, I measure temperatures on an hourly basis when I'm awake and about halfway through the night I get up and measure the temperature with the thermometer on my phone (freaking phone was 250 dollars, has a thermometer and a compass and is bigger than my computer mouse) I use the same technique for the hourly checks. Humidity is approx 50-70 depending on when I opened my window/ whether it was foggy or not when I opened it, the humidity typically stays like that in my area, I have a quartz brand clock on my wall that has a humidity measure and a thermometer built in. No live plants (again, planning to get some from LLL Reptile ASAP). The Terrarium is on my computer desk (I turn off the monitor when I turn off his light) and the top of the terrarium is 31 inches off the floor of my room. I live in Vancouver WA (a bit north of Portland Oregon)

GUYS, THIS IS A FORUM FOR CHAMELEONS! Not for your internet bitch-fights, kindly take said bitch-fight to a private chat room where we don't have to deal with it

Choose a wide variety of music for your Chams........:), then they can wear flowers in their hair and listen to Bob Dylan one day, get punked by The Jam later on, and just chill with Bob Marley before bed........

Sorry mate, didn't mean to hijack the thread because this is important. Supplements are not recommended - they are ESSENTIAL! You need a plain calcium supplement with no phosphorous for light dusting everyday. You also need a high d3 supplement for twice a month. A multivitamin twice a month is recommended.

... gut-loading? Umm...
Gutloading means wht you feed to the crickets. In captivity it is very important to make sure the food you give a chameleon is as healthy as possible. The crickets need to be fed on a high calcium diet. Dark green leaves are good, in general. There are lists of good stuff all over the forum. Do you have dandelions around in Texas? They are good, as is butternut sqaush, oranges, carrots.....

There is a white section to the droppings too, if it is yellowy or going orange this indicates dehydration.

I never kept a Jacksons myself, so I can't tell you about temps or humidity....

I believe I posted earlier, I live in Washington, this would be similar to me asking "How's the Haggis in Scotland?" or something... anyways, up here we have dandelions, so much we can't get rid of them
