Is it unusal for a Chameleon to sleep upside down?

I've noticed that my Chameleon has been sleeping upside down the last two nights. He looks just as he does while basking, however he's upside down on the underside of one of his vines. Is this abnormal or something to be concerned about?

Sounds like he is being a very bat chameleon.

Whenever a chameleon does not sleep in the Classic sleep pose (tail curled up) it is reason for alarm I would say. It must be quite stressful on his body to carry his whole weight through the night, instead of resting it on top of a stick. Have you noticed any other changes in his behaviour?

He is very young. His tail is also curled up. Like I said, it's almost as if he was just laying normally, just upside down. Granted I have no idea if he actually sleeps like that through the night, but I have seen him doing it a few times recently when waking him up in the morning. He's still very new to me so his behaviour is somewhat unkown; however, nothing else seems to be out of the ordinary.

Ok, awesome, that's what I wanted to hear. I'm trying to keep a level head but every time something seems a little off my internal alarm goes haywire

My new baby panther has fallen asleep sideways once or twice. Buy usually in the normal position with pajamas on.

It's adorable, but I think it will go away as they get older and heavier.

are there any signs of vomit or saliva/foam droppings. not to scare anyone but my first Cham had an infection and would start sleeping upside down..would wake up gaping his mouth and vomiting. honestly the worse experience i have had. long story short the pet store i got it from sold me a 4 month old veiled and claimed it to be 6/7 month old. At a young age they cant eat hard body worms as it wont digest easily for them. after noticing that in his droppings that's when he started to sleep in awkward positions, upside down being the main one. Just monitor your little guy, but they should be sleeping curled up as its easiest to rest their bodies from a days worth of climbing and patrolling their grounds :)

post some pics of his sleeping positions? i have video and photos of this incident so i can never go through it again. learning from experience is the best way to better your knowledge on chameleons.

sometimes my cham sleeps half on the mesh and half on a branch.. i dont think mine ever did this though

I see it all the time! If every baby that slept upside down on the screen were to get sick and die I would not breed chameleons anymore! They all sleep upside down at one point in time! There is nothing to it!
