I was'nt sure if this is normal. My cham. seems to be doing this recently. He still eats normally, is active, drinks normally, goes on about his business but also loves to HANG around.:D

Haha, one of my favorite poses!

I have caught both my chams doing this.
He is hunting;)

On a side note, he looks a tad dehydrated.(sunk eyes)

Oh ok. I will monitor his water intake much more closely. And make sure the dripper is always going along with more misting. Its just been reaaaallly cold in Cali recently. But will do! Thanks! :)

Most any chameleon that I am aware of can handle nite temps past 50F.
A nite time drop is good for them.

A heater will dry out the air.
IMO I prefer having my temps drop all the way to 50F(my cut-off point) before turning on any type of heater.

70 in the day is often under 40 at night in Southern California.

Hopefully that is what the poster means.

If not...well...hey, learning moment: chameleons need a temperature gradient during the day. It should be warm (depending on the chameleon, 80 to 90 degrees) in the basking zone going down to 70ish at the bottom. They need a cool night, preferably under 70 degrees and as low as 60 or, some report, 50 degrees.

Wilf does this when he's drinking from the leaves. I love watching their acrobatics, it assures me they are healthy and getting a good work out :D
