Okay so I got a Chameleon about 2 weeks ago he isnt very big, and I have the humidity at 70% and maintain it with a fogger, and i spray the cage down twice daily with a mister spray bottle, do i still need a dripper? and the bottom of the cage stays around 65-70°f and the top is only getting to about 85, most things i have read said about 90, the pet store told me 120, The cage is 2footx2foot, and 4 foot high, I have a 100 and 60 watt blue basking balbs, and 5.0uvb light.I do not have any red light for night BC it doesn’t get below 60 degrees is that okay, or do i need more lights? and have all real plants, a FICA hibiscus and this other thing all told were okay with organic soil. The bottom ibhave coconut husk. George the Chameleon is eating fine I’ve been giving him worm things and, 12 crickets daily, is that enough or should I feed more, he is about 5 inches long tail not include. Another question what is a "normal" color sometimes he will get bright, like when I am misting the cage, sleeping, and when I go to feed him, when he is just chilling he tends to be a dark green, and brown, he hasn’t turned black but he is darker than he is lighter... Is that normal? And I haven’t ever took him out of his cage, he runs from me so I just leave him well alone is that okay, or do I need to "socialize" him. Any advice you can give will be appriciated

What kind of worm things to you give him meal worms, super worms, hornworms, silkworms? What is that light on the side of the cage? How big are the crickets? What temp is his basking spot under the light? If the basking spot is 85 I would say thats good. 120 degrees is to high.

I am feeding him meal worms, and med crickets, and the light on the side is a grow light, for the plants, it's blue and red wich I was told was fine, the basking spot is at 85 right now

I would say you have a normal cham. I notice you have a food dish on that ledge thing, that is not safe. If your cham climbs on that chances are it will slide of the ledge and your cham will fall with it.

I have it reinforced with a 3 inch screw through the bottom of the dish that holds it in place on the rock thing, it's where I put the worms, one last question in your opinion do I need a dripper with the fogger and then spraying it with a sprayer?

Never mind what I said about the dish then. How often does your fogger go off and how long does it run for?

Also, mealworms are the least nutritional out of all the worm types. Silk are the best, but butter or hornworms are good as well. In my opinion he also needs more branches to climb around on throughout the cage. You may want to take a look at the dragon ledges from dragonstrand.com, I added those to my cage to make adding branches easier.

What I did was to take some artificial vines and make triangles of them that reach from back center to either front side and at body length from top down. He climbs on them. There is nothing on the bottom of his cage, nor should there be. All his plants hang from the top-back of his home and hang down the interior. He can climb on the live vines or on the artificial vines all day long without falling. Rambo is 5 years old and I have fed him giant mealworms his entire life. He will eat what he wants (I've tried) and that's what he wants. I gutload them with Repashy Superload and dust them with Repashy Calcium Plus. After 4 years I think I can say this works for him. You must find what works for you and your cham and stick with it.

i have a fogger that goes off 7 ,10a.m 1,4,7 pm 15 mins a time, and yes u would suggest u have a little dripper . I didn't have one untill I came to this forum , my Chan got sic and very dehydrated dripper is amazing.

What supplements are you using? Can I see another pick of his back legs it looks like he could have MBD, but I can't be real sure. Only feed the meal worms as an occasional treat they are not real nutritious, and are hard to digest which could lead to impaction. You won't need a red night light. Your basking temp shouldn't go any higher that 90-95 degrease your pet store gave you bad advice on that one he is not a uromastyx.
