Is my chameleon receptive?

Also today she has gone back to her receptive colors. I haven't noticed the last day because she was just doing green and a slightly dark green and I couldn't see brown stripes. But now she is showing dark colors with a bright green and turquoise. Veterinarian?

Could anyone confirm if I should go to the vet? Is it normal for chameleons to retain this patterning for days after laying? Why would she have shown normal colors and then go to this color?

My girls colors become almost faded and muddy after laying. I prefer to err on the side of caution, so will say a vet visit for an X Ray is prudent.
Here’s one of my girls a few days before laying, a day after and then about a week after.

Okay so she was showing the week after colors but right now she is showing the same colors as the second pic, but sometimes she still gets vibrant like the first pic. I think I'm just being paranoid and overly careful. I will continue to observe then, as I did just see her drink. She did just have a lay, I just had this expectation that her colors would change back to regular immediately.

She has sprung back remarkably well, but she still seems to be a tad bit tired. Sometimes she stays up past her bedtime, but as of the last couple days she has been out like a light, she wakes up immediately when the ballast comes on though, I think she just needs some rest and food and more water, she's moving about her cage and not acting lethargic or like something is wrong, I'm just paranoid and worried about colors because these colors and patterns are very new to me.

Thank you for the pics and guidance, I'm trying to avoid a vet bill as finances are not there for me to get her an xray right now. I'm trying to get as much money as I can but I can only do so much. I'm going to give it a couple more days because she seems literally fine right now outside of the colors and the previous not wanting to drink, but now she's drinking, eating, and moving about as usual, my biggest concern was getting her to drink, which she did.

I have some money coming in soon, so if necessary I can use that on her and the bills can wait.

Thank you all again.

She still looks plump in the last photo you posted.
Agreed, but she's not as big as she was. I feel like her proportions are fine, it doesn't seem as though she's carrying excess eggs but i can't say. I really wish I had the money for an xray right now just to put my mind at ease. She's still alright as of now.

So did my girl looked like directly after she laid her first clutch. She was a bit on the pale side, thin and wrinkled.

So mine doesn't look like this right now at all, she's still showing her really vibrant colors like MissSkittles posted.

So maybe it's different for every chameleon? Some go back quickly and some don't?

Btw, she’s very beautiful! I love her markings. 💗
I missed this post last night, thank you. She is very beautiful, and I love her very much, I'd be devastated if anything happened to her.

She seems fine this morning, she is active and basking, but just still showing her vibrant colors.

Absolutely and it was just to show you how they can also look after they’ve laid eggs.
I think the second day after, she also got her vibrant colors back. Only the wrinkles stayed for a few days. However you could really see she was “empty” and how you got used to the sight of her filled with eggs.

Okay good because after her lay I could see she looked empty. Last night I woke her while she was sleeping, because when she passes out she usually isn't super mobile and let's me touch her without getting super stressed over it. I massaged her belly without pressing too hard, just squeezes being careful not to break ribs, and ran along her abdomen feeling for eggs, I didn't feel anything, just squishy green pancake. More updates to come, thank you for sharing and the advice as well.
