Is my lighting to close?

I'm almost ready to get a juvenile panther but after stumbling upon some pics of a panther with burns, I just won't to make sure this lighting setup will not burn my little guy. It is a 24" Zoomed T5HO with their T5 reptisun 5.0 and an 8" incandescent dome, both sitting on top of the cage. Is this too close?

BTW: its a 24x24x48 cage.

For your UVB lights, I would say they are not close enough. Since you went with T5HO, your cham will get some, with the superior coverage of the T5, but your cham should have the option of getting right up next to it in order to regulate its UVB.

What wattage basking bulb are you using? I think a temp gun is a must for cham keepers. You should use one to take the temp of the basking spot and adjust the distance of the basking light accordingly. Your target should be around 90 degrees. It looks like the vine would allow your cham to get pretty close, so be careful. You can hold your hand there to get an idea of how hot it is and if it will burn.

Here is the temp gun I use: ($20)

Do you suggest i raise the plant and vines then? Also, I think the bulb is a 75w, I just grabbed it from the ones we have for the house really just for viewing, and I don't have a thermometer yet, I'm going to order one of the zilla probe thermometer/hygrometers. I figured once I have that I can adjust the heat accordingly, but my main concern is the UV fixture, because in the manual that came with it, it says not to let them get within 6" of it.

Yeah, I would raise the vine under the UVB. I always try to have a vine the length of the UVB blub approximately 4" from the top of the screen. Make sure this vine doesnt allow your cham to get too close to the basking light though.
