Thank u this is what ive been waiting for her to be receptive but she has been this colour all week i showed her my male on monday through the viv glass but she hissed and opened her mouth so when she did tht she wasnt ready so ill try now i think

Yep, not looking gravid, maybe starting to be receptive?, has she laid before? How old is she?
She has laid before a the shop i got her from she is 3 and he is 4, ive just tried them both he wanted to going in to his sunburst colour she puffed up and opened her mouth and also hissed so she not ready, but next week is the 4th week of trying to breed them so she may be receptive nxt week and for some reason she is eating sand again

She does not look gravid or receptive to me. Looks like the normal colors of a female veiled. If she's 3 years old that's too old to be breeding.

Some don't even live to be 3 years old. If you care about her then don't breed. It's very hard on them to lay a fertile clutch.....much harder than an infertile because the eggs are bigger and they gain more weight. The very best thing you can do for her is to keep her cooler and feed less and try to keep her from laying a clutch at all if she 3 years old. Laying clutches shortens their life. I would also recommend you find a new vet.

My current, female, Veiled turns/turned a bright green when she was receptive. It was very noticeable and she stayed that color. It was different than the pics you have and I wish I had taken a pic to post now. She is now gravid and is a patchy coloration, with some brown; similar to what you have posted on this.

If she gets pretty blue spots all over her then I would say breed if you want to, but it would certainly shorten her life. Jannb is always right........your vet is wrong.
She looks healthy, but don't try to breed again, unless she advertises that she wants to. It will stress her, and you should always let it be the ladies choice.
If you want to breed, and she doesn't, then get a younger model........;):cool:
