Is the occasional snort and sniff normal?

My 4 month old Veiled sometimes makes a loud exhale through her nose (like she's blowing a snot rocket) either when she is undisturbed or when I approach the cage too quickly.

Is this normal behavior or should I be worried she has a RI?

She doesn't seem to have any extra mucus or breathing problems though.

Hmm..I'm honestly not too sure but if the rest of her behavior is normal I would say its nothing to worry about but I'm honestly just guessing. You say it's when you approach too quickly so it may be her way of firing up.

Just thought I'd add my panther does the same thing. Mostly when I get too close, or a cricket crawls on him, but sometimes out of nowhere. Not very often though

If it's a short, sharp 'PFFT!', then they do that when they aren't happy with something! It's an expression of dislike.

Yea, my cham never gapes, hisses, or bites, but he is a professional "PFFTer" when he is unhappy with something!

That's what I though. Sometimes I hear it do it when I am on the other side of the room though so I don't know what she's hating on :D
