I noticed my Chams love the color green... And was wondering if anyone knows of a cricket of some sort that would be nonflying and green that I could breed easily to feed them.

Not banana roaches. already got those coming.

I agree with camimom, use locusts. I remove their back legs so they can't jump out. They are Sebastian's favorite, I just hold the tub with about 4-5 large locusts and gone in no time LOL

US laws are different than UK's concerning hoppers i believe. I dont think anyone could propogate them and ship them throughout the US. Im assuming thats why noones ever tried a commercial locust/hopper operation in the states.

You can its just alot of work and time getting the colony started. They dont hatch as quickly as cricks do. Its several months from laying to hatching of eggs. Then you have to raise em to a feedable size. Its alot like raising mantis as feeders. Alot of work, thats why i just go collect wc hoppers.

The katydids I am working with hatch in 20 to 30 days and breed really good. It's just remembering to not feed off some so you keep the cycle going:)

sowhat im hearingis just get crickets, and feed them natural green food coloring, so they turn green, kind o flike the teal hornworms... ;)
