Okay, thanks. Are they at all common here in the states? I have an energentic Border Collie always dragging me on long walks in the neighborhood and it would be nice to find a source for the silkies!

Mulberrys grow all over the u.s., in the fall they drop all their leaves, the trees grow huge over 50 feet easy

Hi there, it is Aesculus ( possibly hippocastanum) a horse chestnut, I believe the seeds are slightly poisonous and those and the leaves should be avoided.

There is a free smartphone app called "PlantSnap" that will identify plant species for you from pictures of the foliage. It's a little spotty with weird tropical plants, but it has thus far been very good at identifying mulberry trees for me (though I now know what they look like, thanks in part to the app).

After a couple days of wandering around my neighborhood I found two huge trees in a public park.
