is this a real cham!!!

in other countries they have some different interpretations of chameleons. i was in mexico two weeks ago and they had some sort of dangerous desert lizard that kills snakes and they called it chameleon. i don't quite sure remember their scientific name. so maybe its called a chameleon in cuba...:D

Did anyone see how much that thing was? No thanks. I'd rather have a Cuban cigar. Or anole, I thought we had an embargo against Cuba how did this guy get one?

Unless I am severly mistaken, we have CB lines here in the US.
Again, unless I am severly mistaken, that is a "Cuban Anole".

I would also like a cuban cigar:(

yeah i think thats a cuban anole, it looks a little different than the ones ive seen though. they can change color. hence "chameleon"

disturbing bit of trivia for you guys. according to my grandmother back in the day they used to PIN anoles to their clothes. like with a needle....

My dear Solid Snake...how could you not be right?

Deku my mother in law told us the same thing....gross. I always give her a hard time because when she comes to our house she says "hello" to the guinea pigs, but doesn't spare my chameleons a glance....

Well...that's ever so slightly less disgusting....I'll have to ask her. I'll let you know.

I also found this comment on a blog that mentions them being tied to string:

"Thank You... Thank You... Thank You... I had many anoles growing up as a child... and I loved them so much. So very much that my mother became jealous... and told me a terrible story. She told me that when she was little that people would sell anoles and pin them on their shirts. When I asked how then pinned them... because I was worried for the poor little creatures... she told me they put a pin through the lizard. When I asked what happened to the lizard... She said... "They died, I guess." I have lived with the horror of this for about thirty years... I was probably about six years old at the time. That's how I ended up here... GRATEFULLY to find out that they were put on a string. My mother is obviously more mentally ill than I imagined. Thank You... I feel so relieved... I just can't explain it."

So maybe people did literally "pin" them to their clothing?

That's the words she used. She said "we pinned them to our sweaters".

I'll try to narrow that down when I see her. Everything is about my father at the moment because he broke his pelvis, but we'll probably see MIL this weekend.

Sorry:rolleyes:

Im very sorry about your father, I hope all goes well.

That would be great though. I am going to try to contact a few people I know that might have input.

My friends mother told me she used to pin baby veileds into her shirts when she was a kid. She would get them from the circus. I couldn't believe her i though she was just giving me a hard time. Awful story!:(
