im no expert but wouldnt it matter what that guy was eating? if he was eating a poison plant that may harm yur guy?

Yes that is always a concern, Often what they eat is whatt determins wether they are safe or not. Many bugs often eat a particular item that can be the deciding factor, ( such as wild hornworms ) also pesticide use can be an issue. I live in a area in the country where there wouldnt be much pesticide use, and I also keep the bugs in a cup for 12 - 24 hrs and feed them a decent gutload to help ensure they have not eaten or been sprayed by pesticides, as they most often die within that ammount of time if so.
