Is this a sufficient grow light?

Buuummmpp.

I don't want to pay 27$ for a 6500k 18" T8 from lightyourreptiles if this 3$ light is pretty much the same.

If you are concerned about getting a grow light you could just go to your local hardware store. Most will have grow lights for less then $10.

Oh, they did carry those. But I was looking for an 18" bulb.

18" can be a bit harder to find, but if you search around you should be able to find one. I think walmart is actually your best bet for that size, at least in my experience.

Just find one that is 6500K.

Also, youll likely want two of them to keep your plants doing well.

Just ordered the light off ebay along with some other supplies. Hopefully my plants will do fine with just one bulb, since the only reason I really even got it was since I had a 24" fixture laying around from an old fish tank.

it should work fine, considering the plants are shade loving (plants in general just like alot of lumens, 2 would be the ticket, but it may still work).

and basically everybulb (linear tube style) all have a "k" or "kelvin" rating..the 6500k is pretty much a vegative\flowering spectrum its right in the middle of being "warm" and "cool" in the color spectrum so ignore the "XXXX" and just gor straight to the specs ...ie the "k" reading and you will always have the right lighting.. also, some but very few, hydroponics shops carry the same bulbs and usually for just a few bucks more (you pay for the convienence of having it right then) maybe check out some local hydro shops, they may or may not have reasonable charges, but its worth a try.
