Is this an appropriate lighting kit?

Hey guys, do you recommend the zoo med tropical lamp and lighting kit for a zoo med class 18 x 18 x 36 terrarium ? It's for a juvenile panther chameleon. Please let me know
If not, please let me know what you recommend

I would recommend getting a linear uvb lamp. They can spread the light out over the length of the cage instead of in a regular spotlight with the coil bulb. I personally like the linear bulbs way better than the coils.

Since your soliciting for advise, take a look at the Odysea series of lights found in many places on the web. They are sometimes a fraction of the cost of some other lights that are favorites of many forum members, but are actually the exact same unit with a different name and price. Just be sure to factor in a decent UVB bulb if you need it.

If you buy a slightly larger size, you can reuse it when you move up to a larger enclosure.

I use the Zoo Med 5.0 HO T5 as well. It's really a wash between this and the Arcadia. Experts claim the Arcadia last twice as much, but costs twice as much. Go figure. I prefer a "fresh" bulb every 6 months anyway.

I honestly think they are made in the same factory, and may be the same bulbs. Both are made in germany with the same amount of phosphors. And both are high quality.

THAT is truly interesting. I wonder is this can be confirmed. The "Arcadia Cultists" (lol) who swear by this brand over all others would have a cow.
