Is this grasshopper safe?

I caught a bunch of these at the lale today. I was reading some threads that were talking about potentially toxic grasshoppers so I wanted to make sure these looked alright. I will be keeping them for about a week before feeding so I can gutload and get rid of some risks.

Also they seem to be much more shell than a cricket. I may be wrong...should they be fed only as a treat?

A quick question while the thread is up, how can you tell? I googled lubers and it looks like everything is a luber to me.

You only have to worry about these if you live in the south east USA
From what I understand, when small, they are black with yellow, orange or red stripes. When adults, they are really quite large, bigger than a normal grasshopper and usually more colourful than a normal grasshopper. Dont fly much - small wings. And if you pick them up they smell bad.

I dont think a cham would die from eating a single lubber

I googled "Lubber Grasshopper" and they have a very different look than the Grasshopper in the OP's photo. Even as an adult when the color is more similar, they have very tiny wings and a different posture.
