Is this ok?

image.jpg this is little Simons normal colors. Sorry about the red light, but I've been asking around if this was ok and finally thought to take a picture. Is this stressed? Or basking?

You cannot tell much from the picture, especially with the red light which by the way you should get rid of. Switch the red out for white, as in a white housebulb. You chameleon's tail is curled and if he is not sleeping and it is curled during the day, he could be stressed or upset. My chameleon always curls his tail when he gets mad, especially when I try to take pictures of him as he does not like the camera at all.

That's just his night light

No need for the night light :) Chameleons like to have a temperature drop at night. That's when they know to go down to find a good spot to sleep. Can you possibly get a picture of his full enclosure?

So its a good start. :) I do want to suggest getting him more foliage. You can pick up a umbrella plant from home depot for around 10 bucks. It will be tall enough to cover a lot of space in his cage and give him plenty of places to hide. Another thing is I see that you have two reptifoggers on him? What is the purpose of those? Do you have a misting system or do you hand mist and also do you happen to have a dripper for him?

I have 2 because it didn't seem to be doing much without them by the size of his cage. I only mist his leaves for water

I would recommend getting a dripper and allowing the drips to fall on the leaves. It allows them to have drinking water throughout the morning and into the early afternoon. You can make them really easily with any plastic container (cleaned well) and put a pin hole in the bottom of it and put it on the top of the cage. Allow the drips to cascade onto leaves and vines. This and the umbrella plant will help with the humidity. I would nix the foggers if you get a dripper. Also, an automatic mister will simplify your life with all the mistings. They are kind of expensive but totally worth it :)

Thank you! And about his colors, is he dark because of his cage conditions? And do you think getting more plants will brighten him up a bit?

Well with that red light it is hard to say. He should be resting (lighter) colors during the day unless he is basking, they tend to stay dark around the basking light. Also at night, when they are sleeping, they should be very vibrant and most colorful. I would get more foliage in there and take a picture of him during the day so we can see what he looks like then...

In the setup picture he's on the far right, he's never black but almost always dark brown with grey stripes maybe. He does go pastel green when he's sleeping.

I can't see anything really in that picture.. He seems to be really young and very small for that cage... try the plant and dripper and see of that helps... Otherwise I am afraid to say you may need to downsize his cage until he gets a bit bigger.

I thought a big cage was a good thing? Won't he be stressed if I switch him in to a new one? Also, I don't think it would really matter... Or does the space scare him?
