Is this ok?

I just got a baby chameleon three days ago, he is approximately 3 1/2 months old. I got a 10.0 cfl uvb bulb, the chameleon has been hanging to the top of the enclosure right next to the uvb bulb, is this ok?

a 10 really isn't necessary unless your Viv is huge. a 5.0 is plenty sufficient. he could just be using the heat from the bulb to get warm

I do have a somewhat big cage for his size, it's a 2x2x4
And I don't think it could be because of the heat because I have a very powerful heat light, that's the red light in the picture.

My basking spot is around 85-90 but he doesn't really go in the basking spot at all.

thats cause its too hot, high 70s and low 80s will suffice. may i see the cage? try lowering his basking spot

Why? The uvb barely produces any heat so the cage will be at 70 or below.

Make sure you measure the temp but normally a 65 watt will suffice. Never use the red light, it's not natural.

By incandescent I mean the old style light bulbs not the new energy saving cfl

my Viv is 24x24x48 and I use a 5.0 uvb bulb and my year and a half old sheds very regularly and has regular bowel movements. A 10 is overkill for that Viv and definitely ditch the red light I used a 75 watt regular bulb and works perfect and keeps the top round 75-83°f
