Hi everyone

My little Cleo is 2 months old and went through a full shed just over a week ago. She has these little white pieces of what looks like skin on either side of her nose. She is ok and sleeping at night, eating well and becoming more confident in everything. Her temperatures in the enclosure are good and I mist her four times a day and supplement her food to the required amount per week. Can anyone shed (excuse the pun) some light on what it could be,it looks like loose skin but just a bit paranoid, thanks for your help

I think this is Cleo getting rid of extra calcium and maybe other minerals. When you over supliment a veiled this is how they get extra calcium (most likely) out of there system, through there nose. Simply cut back the amount of suppliment you give her. Hope this helps.

P.S. When this happened to my Cham he managed to get the white off by himself after a while.

I am going to say you can still suppliment on your current scedule, mine is close to yours and works fine, but when you suppliment don't use as much or don't dust all of the crickets. It might to take some experimenting to get it just right for Cleo.

It is salt, not calcium.

What do you mean by "I supplement her crickets.."? Do you mean you dust with a vitamin/mineral supplement?

She needs her food lightly dusted with plain calcium at every feeding.

I read somewhere it was calcium, sorry. False online information fools me sometimes.

I know, and now some more people have read it again.

Internet forums are great but they have their drawbacks and one is that incorrect information is easily passed around and repeated. The more often one hears it, the more likely they are not to question it's veracity. I've been troubled to read on this forum some who openly dismiss scientific studies in favor of anecdotal observations by novice chameleon owners with their first chameleon that is younger than a year.

Hi
This is the supplement I have been using. I dust her crickets three times a week. The guy in the store I purchased her from didn't know too much about supplements so any advice you guys could give me would be really appreciated

I don't know that brand or the reputation of that brand. I'd like to see the back with exact amounts. Human-grade supplements are notoriously inaccurate in what they say is in the bottle and what is on the label. I expect reptile supplements to be even worse. Get some Repashy superfine calcium with NO D and a good multi vitamin with D3. Plain calcium with every feeding and Vitamins with D3 every two weeks is, I believe, the protocol most recommend.
