Hi there,
I am looking to buy a young panther chameleon (about 3 months old) and I am about to order the setup for him.
These are the items i am looking to order:

Exo terra terrarium (45 x 45 x 60cm) has a wire mesh top for ventilation and climbing
75 watt exo terra heat lamp
A holder/clamp for the heat lamp
2 thermometers (one for the basking spot, one for the general temperature)
A hygrometer
A branch for climbing
Some fake leaves
feeding dish
a mist spray bottle
Is that enough?
All comments are greatly appreciated :)

What will you do for UVB? You need a separate (tube) light for that, dedicated 6% UVB or more (but not too much).
For that size cage, that seems like a lot of heat. You can probably use a regular 60w bulb in a reflector style dome (clamp lamp) to get enough heat.
An inexpensive IR laser pointer thermometer (about $30) is great for getting multiple temp measurements.
For the mist bottle, get the kind you pump up. Much nicer to use for a good misting.

OK thanks for the advice! I think the two thermometers will be fine, but I am not sure about the UVB, do you know anywhere to buy one?

What is best is to set up your cage before you get your chameleon and post a pic. We can tell you what you should do to improve upon it if need be. As the other member stated, UVB is of the utmost importance. Also fake leaves will not be enough. Fake or live plants to fill up the cage. Live preferably. They will help with the humidity.

You will need a fixture and linear bulb. If you are doing live plants (highly recommended, he can send you a dual fixture and add a 6500k plant bulb.

Todd will communicate what you need.

You might look at screen cages, the Exo Terra Terrarium does not have lower vents for air flow, if I remember right. Glass sides are tough to secure branches to.

Top of the line screen cages are Dragon Strand, inexpensive are LLL Reptile, both in the same sponsors link.

Chameleons need LOTS of horizontal branches, not 1 branch, get some branches from the woods.

Live chameleons are best housed with live plants, not plastic.

The feeding dish is not just a dish, the insects need to climb up, use the "search" feature, keyword "feeding cups."

You don't mention Calcium with and without D3 and Vitamin supplementation, until you get an understanding on what is required, you are not ready for your chameleon. The search feature will educate you so you can ask some questions.

From your list, it seems you have done some learning about chameleon care, but there is much more to learn to set up your habitat correctly. By using the "search" feature you can put in a key word such as "plants" and have hours of information.

The time you expend learning before buying will be well worth money you will save, the frustration you will reduce, and the chameleon being healthy.

CHEERS!
