Isambard on the loose!

So I took Isambard out to bathe his feet in some warm water to get the last of the shed off his feet. I put him in the bowl, as soon as he felt the water he made a run for it! he's now hanging around behind my speakers, i'm able to reach him but he's having none of it. I offered my hand and he hissed and lunged at it (first time he's ever done that in the 4 months i've had him) well I say hiss it was more like a little squeak lol as he's 7 months old. Tried bribery with wax worms and still nothing. Shall I just leave him to it? will he find his own way back to the cage cause of the heat/light source in there? he seems ok at the moment, although the colours are a bit dark.

lol sounds like u gt a mission on ya hands there lol sounds like something wht would happend to me i say leave him for while bt keep check on him and he might come out on own free will but chams do like to lounge so u might b there a while wax worm is a gd way though i say:)

Funny enough that just happened to me with my vieled. He got onto the top of our curtain rod and then to our surround sound speaker. If you give him a way down he will go. I used a little bribery myself and gave him some crix and superworms. I showed them to him and he followed where I put them.

If he was up high i'd find it easier but he's right behind my pc monitor now and because i'm above him he's a bit nervous :( now he's going lower! if I go near him he hisses, I don't wanna stress him out too much. Last time I try and give him a bath! lol

I part free range one of my panthers and he is very good natured and I hardly ever have a problem getting him in his cage at night. He knows when its time to go back in and I have no problem with him crawling onto my hand or onto a stick. The only time he puffs up, hisses and puts on a show is when he is on the back sliding door screen as he gets a lot of late afternon sun and a view of his favorite tree. In this case I use a stick to coax him of the screen and he will eventually hop on. I find trying to pick him up with gloves on when he is pissy makes him worse and is way too stressful for him.

Can you get a stick or a vine down there that he can get on? What time of the day/night is it at the moment?

Hassle over now, he climbed onto a little plastic box I had so I picked that up and moved it over to his cage for him to hop off. First time i've ever had him out since i've had him so it was an experience, one i'm not likely to repeat too often. I was just worried about his stress levels or him getting too cold, seems ok now but probably a little bit moody with me hehe.

Glad it worked out!

A moody cham is a good cham. At least you know where he was when he escaped and didnt have to search for him :)
