Isle of Wight Photos

Just a few photos that I took last night down at Appley Beach in Ryde. This beach is around a 25 minute drive from my house. We have some lovely places on the Isle of Wight - even still have a couple of villages of thatched cottages! It really is a wonderful place to live!:D

First 2 pics are Appley Tower which is a Victorian 'watch tower' and now houses a gemstone and crystal shop.

View across the Solent to Portsmouth and Southsea on the Mainland (unfortunately it was rather hazy last night, so not the best pic!)

Lovely pics! It looks beautiful there. Maybe when i come to London this Summer i can stop by Isle of Wight;)

That last pic is gorgeous but lets hope the volcano wont erupt again and no more flight delays!

Im stopping by for 2-3 days and then going to Bulgaria to see all my relatives for 3 weeks and then on the way back stopping to London again for 2 days and then coming home;)

Nice pics, used to visit Hayling Island every year when i was younger, and venture accross to the Isle Of White. Lovely Place !! :D

Always took the hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde :D

Haven't been down that way for a long long time, i think another visit is necessary soon.

Amazing snap Tiff :D

I've only been to the island twice, both when i was a kid. Loved it. They were the best holidays :) We stayed in the caravan park in Sandown across the road from the little zoo. You could see the tigers in the evening from the street :)

Gary, that zoo is still there - they have loads of lemurs now too and a white lion. All their big cats are beautiful! If it's been along time since you came to the Island then you won't have seen Amazon World. They have all sorts of lovely things there to look at - sloths, slow loris (my fave) and a walkin-in lemur enclosure, to name but a few - oh, and they have armadillos too! I would so love one of those!:D I want to go there again this year, and if I do I will definitely take loads of pics to share with all my fiends on here, lol!

We always have red clouds. :)
When we get clouds, that is...

Looks like fun! Find any exciting reptiles? :p

been there once, beautiful landscapes.

Yes we do have a lot of very beautiful scenery! Some fantastic views from higher ground. A few places are acutally listed as 'Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty'!

Nah, no reptiles, sadly, but my daughter found a crab as the tide was going back out again! We do have native 'wall lizards' (I think that's what they are called!) that live over in Ventnor Botanical Gardens. Actually I must get over that side of the Island again and take my camera! It is school half term next week and we are all off of work and school, so hopefully we'll be out and about so I can get some more pics of the beautiful Island!:D
