its.going.to be a late night

I actually enjoy the chirping, only wild at the moment as they like to hang outside my window and my veiled only eats mediums. I'm looking forward to having adults, but I assume on a large scale it can get annoying.

Possibly move them? I had a friend who sound proofed a closet for his colony for his beardies (dragons not pygs)

I couldn't stand the sound. They were in another room, down the hall and I swear it still sounded so loud. They were in the garage before but the ants kept getting to them. I would purposely buy younger crickets that didn't chirp.

Do you get use to all the crickets chirping!!!??? Its literally driving me crazy

It only gets worse as they get older and you have to keep more crickets. I switched to dubia's and now I enjoy the silent nights, and not having the stench of the cricket bin. :D

It's easy just by 4 week old crickets ,they won't make noise ,thats what I do .get a flash light ,find him and take him out.:) next time if u only have large crix ,pull off their wings, but seriously only buy 4 week or medium crix.one time 11 crickets lost their lives before I killed that one ,:)..

Haha where can I buy silent ones? And the 4 week old crickets wont chirp

you can buy roaches from several of the site sponsors.

as for the crickets, i keep them in a seperate room with the door shut. ;)

Wonder if we can cross breed them with the flightless fruits flies and move the curly wings gene.

Dont buy adults "winged crickets" ever !!! or roaches for that matter ;).

I hate when that one adult gets out and under the washing machine or somewhere impossible to get to.

I can't sleep with crickets chirping. I have to get up and kill them or something.. -.-" If there is one that gets under my dresser or tv stand I hunt it down and end it's annoyance. FOREVER.

This is why I have four cats!!!:p

I couldn't stand them at all like my first week of having a 100...

Theres really nothing you can do. I stuck them in a sealed wardrobe which kept them really quite, but eventually I got to lazy to always take them out and put them back in.

So now i'm just used to the cricket chirps. I have about 60 adults and it doesn't bother me...Now, when you move to a scale of 500+...Good luck with that hahaha. I'd suggest the sound proof closet :D

Or keep them in a shed outside.
