SO no one around here sells medium sized crickets so I had to move to large. I have to sort the ones he can eat and feed the rest to the dragon. My questions are, how man7y should I give him. Should I give him as many as he can eat or a set amount. Ill put 12 to 15 in there and he hunts every last one down. Hes only 5 months old. Is it best to let them eat as much as they want? And in your opinon what would be a good replacement for crickets as a main staple for his diet? You guys are wonderful. thank you all so much for all of your help!!!!

Feed your males until they won't eat anymore, which could be as many as 10 if they're really hungry, but I'm guessing yours isn't that large.
Yes, males can eat their fill, females need to have their diets more regulated. Little heffers. lol
Dubia roaches are a great replacement of crickets to the diet of chameleon. And the great part about Dubia is that you can have them in all sizes, not just "small or large".

Males won't over eat, just be sure to remove any uneaten crickets before bed time!
