I bought some Dubia today! Actually they look rather cute and they don't freak me out at all! I got small ones so they can grow on while I get used to the idea of having them in the house, but they are so much less creepy than those awful crickets!

Presumably I just need to gutload like the locusts, etc. Do I need to give them water or anything else besides food?

Give them orange for moisture Tiff, and greens etc fish food is good too the pellet type, keep them hot a light spray once a day and they will soon be huge

Hi miss lily I've been feeding my dubias fruit and veggies including carrot orange apple and greens. I prefer them to crickets as they don't try and jump out the box.

I know it sound crazy but my roaches actully smelled good in their cag with all the fresh fruit and veggies i put in there made it smell like fresh fruit.

I gave mine some water gel but they took a long time to eat/ drink that over the fruit

Another one takes the plunge!! Congratulations Tiff!! The little ones don't creep me out too much either. I still won't handle them tho....The big ones, no way!!!

Tiff I feel just like a proud Mommy! We helped you grow up to dubia's. I never give my bugs water. I would rather my bugs get their liquid needs from the fruit & veggies. I don't know why, it is just what I do. Congratulations!!!

Good job! I think they are cute too lol especially after a shed. I sometimes take them out to freak out my boyfriends friends and family, i dont like them much.:D

Hopefully your cham will not put his/her nose up at them like mine did after I grew a huge colony. Once in a great while he will eat one.
