I've lost my mind completely!

I got another! Haha! My tiny B. Emilia (Mexican red leg) arrived on Thursday. It's water bowl is an empty ibuprofen blister, lol!

I ordered a GBB sling was recommended from arachnoboards forum! Should be here Tuesday!
Nice one! How big? I've heard they are quite fast, but so beautiful at adult stage! I would like another tarantula too, a G. Pulchripes, they are stunning! Not sure if I'm ready for a mahoosive spider just yet, lol! I'd get a sling or juvie, but I prefer dealing with my bigger Red Knee than the tiny Red Leg.

I got it from Fear Not Tarantulas very well talked about website. He/She will be 1.5” sling and yes they are quiet fast but they are just mesmerizing! They webs they make are also amazing! They also sell Pulchripes last time I checked. They are also so amazing but yes they do grow to a pretty amazing size those ones and I tried to get a juvie also but they had no GBB. The quickness of the GBB and skittishness is a hard to deal with factor at first but I think I got it down having to dodge my 1 year old veiled trying to bite me when I try to rearrange his enclosure hahahah

Hi Tiff, congratulations on the spiders! I’m not quite but is spider keeping contagious?
I’ve just been looking at G. Pulchripes at the Spider shop,
I just emailed them to check if they can send me one!:eek::eek:
What’s going on Tiff? Remember the days when we wouldn’t go near a spider!? :ROFLMAO:

Omg! Really?! Thats hilarious, as you are more scared than me! I wanted a G. Pulchripes but not sure I'll be able to deal with their adult size. They are apparently a really calm spider, very good fit beginners. I'm sure you'll be fine!

I remember I was so scared unpacking Bella and Buster and was shaking after. I think I now prefer the bigger spiders. I had to move Pookie into a new enclosure and it was fine. I think I may actually be able to hold him one day. Thankfully, you don't 'have' to hold them, and that's OK by me, lol! This morning I asked about a True Curly Hair (Brachypelma Albopilosum Nicaragua), the really hairy, fluffy one. I want another about the size of Pookie as slings are just too small, lol!

Don't worry you two - I'll stay spider-free proving that it can be done! :p
It's only a matter of time! Only a couple of years ago I said I never understood why people would want spiders as pets. I guess I now 'get it', lol! They are so easy to care for and don't take up as much room as chameleon vivs.

Hi Tiff, I certainly do remember both of us unpacking the ‘giant ‘ jumping spider slings, those were scary times!
And you transferred one of your babies to a new house? Phew, frazzled nerves after that!
I think we will get Michelle keeping spiders before too long!
They have Nicaragua true curly hair slings at the spider shop, 1cm £6 doesn’t sound too bad, but I think I will go for a gold knee, a spider is a scary spider, no matter what size so might as well go big!
I’ll let you know what happens!

Haha! Go large, eh? They are gorgeous! I think 1cm is still a bit too small. I have the tiny Red leg sling already. I'm quite happy with getting something the size of Pookie. Are you getting a sling?

Yes, well i guess 1cm is quite small:LOL:, at least not like those fruit fly sized phiddipus, but 20-20 cm as adult is quite something, they take 3 years + to grow though, amazingly long time! I don’t want to get a juv. as the price goes up quite a lot so I’ll just get a ‘cute’ :eek:o_O little baby instead and watch it grow.

Well.... Did you order the golden knee? We are so brave! Your fear is worse than mine, I can't believe you're looking into getting a mahoosive one! I do love my red knee though, it rarely moves but I love looking at it and telling it how beautiful, cute and fluffy it is! How are your jumping spiders doing?

Hi Tiff, you’ll have to wait and see, might let you know tomorrow;)
Jumpers are fine, rarely see them either, but still nice, Rosie is really quite big now but maybe I should prepare for worse things to come:eek:
Sooo you are talking to your spiders now:cautious: it’s great to hare having such fun with them, I hope I can do the same.

Awww, so glad the jumpers are doing well! Yep, been telling Pookie again today how boofuls he is! :ROFLMAO::D:LOL::love: The red leg is so small with a big fat booty! Even smaller than my Vercsicolor slings. One of the Versis moulted 10 days ago and looks to have grown a little. They take soooo long to grow, like the red leg will. At least Pookie is a decent size, which is why I want a Curly hair the same size. I shall look forward to your update tomorrow, but if I hear feint screaming then I'll know it's you! :ROFLMAO: Seriously though, if it's 1cm then it will be tiny! My red leg lives in one of the small sauce pot/delicup things, a slightly taller version of what I've been keeping the Jumper slings in for months. Last night I ordered another 'breeding box' enclosure for the curly hair so I'll have a matching pair. It'll look better than two different ones, plus they'll stack. Helps my ocd a little!

Remember Tiff, a 1cm if tarantula is 1cm of pure terror to an arachnophobe! :ROFLMAO::LOL:
It will be big enough, I’m already wondering about transferring it to another container, could go for my throat at any moment!
I’d like to see the breeding boxes at some time, nice to house them in nice looking containers.
Good luck with your babies.

I'm just laughing at the idea that you have a spider named Pookie! :D And no, not a chance ladies that I'll ever take the plunge and purposely welcome spiders into my home!!!

That's what we said! This time last year, I'm now ashamed to say, all spiders were despatched by hubby by whatever means necessary.

My husband is the spider dispatcher in our home, but I have to catch all the little geckos and anoles that sneak in. And I have to get them before our cat Jinx spies them or their life spans would be severely shortened. Maybe if I did a very nice planted vivarium, but still not really interested. I've got dart frogs for that :D
