Jackson chameleon

I just bought a Jackson chameleon that is about 6 months old. I have him in a 16 x 16 x 36. He is having a hard time eating the first two days and he's drinking a little bit of water should I be worried

rule of thumb is to never base your decisions for a cham off of what the pet store was doing (especially big chain stores), they usually dont know or dont care how to properly care for a cham. not an expert with jacksons but my guess would be a little too small to. but as for your problems chams get stressed in a new home could just be that but you should fill out the how to ask for help from https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ and post pics of cham and enclosure

When you say "hard time eating," do you mean he is uninterested? Or is he having some sort of problem? What feeders are you using? Also, first two days... there is a good chance he's still adjusting :)

If the trouble he's having eating means he's missing when he shoots his tongue or can't shoot then he has a serious problem. Maybe dehydration, vitamin deficiency or toxicity, or tongue injury.

Make sure that he drink lot of water since Jackson require more humid than the other. Give him sometimes to adjust for a week and if he still not eating, you can start worry.

Okay so when I woke up this morning I gave him crickets as I've been trying for the last two days and finally he's eating a couple of them but that's it and he has water he's drinking. So maybe it was just cuz it was a new environment. And his color is lightening up a little bit. It was basically almost all brown and black the first two days and today I see a little orange and yellow. And one other question if you all can help? What's a good idea to keep my misting bottle warm before I spray his cage down cuz I do notice that it's a bit cold even after keeping it next to the light fixture

I think you can spray it while it is sit in room temp. I wouldn't keep it warm or hot since it will create more bacteria or mold instead. When you spray out, the water come out as fine mist. Chameleon won't feel that cold. Beside Jackson love cold weather more than any
