I had a female veiled cham that i fed a small lizard once.. of course it wasent as big as the cham but now tht i have a jacksons cham. i was wondering if he would eat the lizard as well..due to the jacksons not being as aggressive as the veiled's...does any one have an opinion on this?

Jacksons are fairly small, I would be worried about giving them a small lizard.

A healthy chameleon will eat nearly everything which seems to be something to eat: Not too big and running quickly. And small lizards can fit their pattern of predation perfectly sometimes.

How big is your Jacksons do you have a picture available? i wouldn't even try it unless yours is an adult.

I think ill wait on that lizard feeding..hes not an adult yet and it would be the smartest idea to wait..ill stick to meal worms and crickets for now thanx for the suggestions :d

This Panther will eat a lizard that gets into his big walk in cage, and some are fairly big for the common brown anoles. I don’t think they are bad for them when kept this way, which is almost like being in the wild here.

My chameleon tried his hardest yesterday to eat a small anole in our screened patio. I tried to catch the little guy but he kept running up the screen towards my chameleon. He was going crazy trying to catch it shooting his tongue as far as I ever saw! He finally hit it but it got knocked down thank god. I did not want him to eat that poor little guy. I imagine there are times when my cham gets a wild lizard in his outdoor cage. I see them in there all the time and try to shoo them out but I am sure there are days when he has gotten one. I have only seen him eat one and it was not an enjoyable thing to see, atleast not for me anyways.

what type of jackson do you have. big lizards like anoles i'm pretty sure they won't bother but they have been known to eat their own babies mistaking them for feeders. unless they are from hawaii for some reason they grow big there i don't think i could see one eating a lizard at all.

I am constantly turning around seeing this lizard smacking his lips like he just ate something else but most of the time I have no idea what. I am amazed at the accuracy and ability to hit any moving or flying insect, fly or moth in mid air. These little anoles rob my feeder cups and probably eat pretty good, so I guess they are gut loaded too from my bugs. This lizard meal I just happened to have a camera with me. It was not pleasant to see and it seemed like a really big meal but he had no problem with it.

i have the (Trioceros) jacksonii xantholophus) he is still small..i was just wondering if the jacksons were aggressive enough to attack another lizard since the veileds are commonly more aggresive.

I had an Ambanja about 10 years ago that would eat pretty much anything he could - here is a shot of Socrates munching on a gecko....only did this twice but both times the gecko didn't last very long in the cage.......

LOL Looks like he was in deep thought right there. A great thinker indeed.
