Jackson's not eating crickets

My year old jackson's is not eating his crickets. I put the 8 crickets in his cage yesterday and he has shown no interest. All he wants to do is sit under his basking area. He ate the same amount of crickets on sunday very quickly. His poop and urate looks normal, his eyes look fine, as well as temps and humidity. Maybe he wants to eat something else? Thank you in advance.

Do you only feed him crickets? Sometimes chams will become bored with the same food all the time. I would recommend adding variety to his diet. My cham especially likes hornworms!

Thats what i was guessing. I am ordering some hornworms today but i am going to buy at least some super worms today

I tried to handfeed him some hornworms and still nothing. I have handfeed him super worms before. Heres a closer puc of him.

No when i bought him I was told to feed 3 times a week. He ate 8 crickets on sunday. After many attempts he at one small hornworm but wouldnt eat anything else.

How old was he when you bought him? Now he is more likely to be need to fed every other day. But I do agree he probably needs a much wider amount of feeders. I have 6+ insects that I raise to feed on regular basis and then I add about 4 or 5 more that I buy occasionally as treats. My chameleons never stop eating willingly. Though then again I often take in rescues who come to me sick so getting them to eat on their own can be a challenge.

He is a year old ive only had him for 2 weeks or so. I took a sample of his stool to a vet to make sure he doesnt have any parasites. I will try to feed him some hornworms in the morning.

No don't feed him anything. Hold off for a day or two. Did you feed him the first few days you got him?

Chameleons can easily go two weeks without food with out losing weight if they are healthy. If he has a severe case of parasites or something you will know within the first week whether he is sick. He looks a healthy weight to me, so I honestly wouldn't be worried about him starving unless he goes passed two weeks with absolutely no interest in any feeders, and I would make sure he is well hydrated. He has eaten since sunday. A solid meal depends on what you are feeding him and how big it is. You should honestly just wait him out. But I also really think you should at least get 4 types of feeders you have regular access to.

However wax worms are extremely fatty and should never ever make up a main meal or be used as a regular feeder for most chameleons. Especially considering most chameleons will easily get addicted to fatty worms.

Sounds good. The vet said his fecal test came back negative which is good.

Is this urate a sign of dehydration?

Well his urate is awful watery which I am not sure if that is from mostly just drinking or if from the hornworm? Anyone else have any ideas on that? And in my opinion I don't usually like that much yellow in my Jackson's urates however it depends on when he last had one?
