Japanese sweet potato

Can I feed Japanese sweet potato to my roaches? I know most people say to stay clear of white potatoes and use sweet potato instead, but what about the Japanese sweet potato?

I know they're starchier than a regular white potatoe, and have always assumed for acceptable gut feeder lists they we're referencing yams when saying sweet potatoe....kinda curious now which is the acceptable veggie/root.
