Jose not eating, again.

So I just put Jose in his new cage yesterday, it's a 48x24x24 and I haven't seen him eat all today or yesterday. I cut in half a milk jug and put crickets in that and made it easy for him to get them but he just stares at them and won't eat them. This is normal, right? He has to get used to his new environment is what I've hear. I've seen him drink water off of the leaves and stuff from mistings so I know hes drinking fine. Just wondering if its cause he's in a new cage or not.

Not eating

When was the last time he ate? I used to worry when Charlie would go for a day or so without eating, I thought he was impacted, or just sick. He stopped eating crickets so I used wax worms as a filler he seemed to like those. I ordered silkworms ( gross!). Imagine having to eat the same things everyday. Their digestive system is different-slower than a mammal, being under the heat helps with digestion i believe. I think as long as he is drinking, and he is not sleeping during the day he is fine. Watch for his elimination make sure the white stuff ( urate) is not orange. And you are right, the "stress" of getting to know his new house may make him lose his appetite. My Charlie eats like a champ , I dont leave any bugs in the cage, especially crickets they escape, and superworms morph into these inch long beetles if he doesn't eat them. I get a plastic deli cup ( the small one) and I use this stuff called "JURASSI GUARD" , its garlic flavored. I spray it on the crickets, or superworms and he eats that way. When I'm home, he scratches the screen for me to put him in his tree and he stays there on and off most of the day, i feed him, put him back in the cage, make sure he drinks, he comes back out, I offer more bugs later, back in the cage for more water. He also eats a small piece of kale or collard green sometimes. We have a reallty good routine.
