Just bought an adult veiled chameleon

I would... Making sure temps are correct at basking. And he is not sitting too close to it to cause a thermal burn. They need time to digest. They will seek out the heat especially on days they eat.
I raised the light a little higher than the other one was because this one got hotter and I can feel it when I put my hand under it I would hate my self if I burned him

If it feels hot to you having your hand there for more then a few minutes than it will be too hot for him. :)

Can you recommend any supplements? My local pet store only had ones with d3 and phosphate they had none without I guess I'm gonna have to buy online? Do you have a link? I'm trying to learn id like to think I have him in a better environment than the pet store did since they had him in a glass cage and it's couldn't have been more bigger than 2 ft by 2
There are lots of options for supplements that work... @Beman has already given you one option.

It’s not the one I have but it looks better because it looks like it comes with a wired probe that you would attach to the basking spot.

Actually that one doesn’t look like it gives the humidity. You want one that gives both humidity and temp. You can get a temp gage with a wired probe for the basking sight but you also need at least two others that give both temp and humidity with maybe one of them being a govee. I wish I could add links! I’m going to see if I can, hold on.

Sorry, I can’t give a link. I tried and it didn’t work. There is a govee temp and hygrometer on sale now on Amazon for 10.19. That’s a great deal. Just type in govee temp and hygrometer and scroll down and you’ll see it. Then search for a temp gage with a wired probe and those run about 3.99.

Found it thank you!

Is this a good wired thermometer?

Hi and welcome! :) You’re getting all sorts of great info and I love your eagerness to learn and make everything perfect for your guy. You may want to write down some of it to help keep it clear.
Along with @CasqueAbove awesome site to learn, you could also check out https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/
https://chameleonacademy.com/veiled-chameleon-care/ and Neptune the chameleon on YouTube.
This is a great uvb light to get. https://www.pangeareptile.com/collections/t5-lighting/products/arcadia-prot5-6-uvb-bulb-with-hood
After problems with them, I said I’d never recommend them, but https://www.reptilesupplyco.com/ does have Mist King at a good price, along with some other needed items, also at good prices. I would just say to keep on top of them if they send you the wrong items.
What wattage t5ho bulb should I get? Going to order it by tonight
