Just found a veiled Cham walking across the street

The macaw cage would be perfect if you wrapped it with a 1/4" or smaller screen!

If he is voluntarily crawling under the towel with no prompting, he may just be a weirdo chameleon. :) You may have just found a super exception to the rule! I'm glad he likes your children as many veileds are very defensive and sometimes aggressive. They pack a mean bite.

when you say "are known to be found around here" have you have seen proof of this like the Iguanas? I am just curious.
I have not seen them, nor do I have proof. I was just told by a very reputable breeder who lives in Florida.:)

But at my girlfriends house, her dad, mom, sister, and herself say that they have a chameleon that lives in this huge tree in their front yard.
I believe you, it is just that I have lived here for 23 yrs and have never saw one. Escapees yes, but whole populations? Where has it ever been documented like the Iguanas????

Yeah, I have never seen any wild ones either. The breeder said that they're a lot more common in Florida City, I think. (15-30 mins south of Miami)

What an amazing story! And well done rangosmama for being so thoughtful and attentive. You did your research and have his setup pretty much organised. Most people rush out and buy a chameleon first without learning the proper husbandry needed then they wonder why their cham gets ill. If you need any advice, I have a male veiled just like yours and will be happy to help.

wow

What a cute fellow, I'd love to be driving down the road and see one of these guys. Hopefully his owner will find your postings, if not, you scored!!!

Good luck!
