just laid eggs

My veiled just laid (unfertilized) eggs for the first time. The eggs were pretty white after they were cleaned up so I think she's getting enough calcium. I have 2 questions:

(1) It is normal for her to still be showing gravid colors after the eggs have been laid?

(2) 63 is a lot of eggs. Should I restrict her food more next time?

63 eggs is a lot! What I do is after they lay the eggs, feed them well for a couple of days to get them built back up again and then cut back quite a bit on the feeding until you are sure she working on her next clutch....then feed her well again. This seems to keep the clutch size down but ensure that she gets enough that the babies will be healthy.

What did you do to clean the eggs off? They are said to have a "coating" on them that protects them from bacteria and mold...so if you washed them, you may have washed it off. Also, its not recommended to rotate the eggs...its okay as a rule for the first little while after they have been laid.

Wow, that was a quick reply. Thanks! The eggs are unfertilized so I wasn't concerned with keeping them healthy. I rinsed a couple off with water so I could see them better.

Setup

This is an older pic from the day that she moved into the cage. There's more plant coverage now. There's a divider in the middle so only the right half of the cage is hers. Her basking area is in the mid 80s. The temp is in the high 60s at night. The canopy on top has 6 regular fluorescents and 2 reptisun fluorescents, each 4 feet long. The light stand on the right has 2 Phillips 75 watt incandescent plant light bulbs. I'm still not sure what I want to put in the left side. :)
