i used to have 4ft tall x 3ft wide x 22in deep enclosure, i have a female veiled and i felt it was to small now that shes full grown and upgraded to 7.5ft tall x 5ft wide x 3.5ft deep.
I know we always say bigger is better .... but that seems pretty extreme to me.
The only way you would ever be able to find her is because she has a favorite spot or area which would probably fit quite easily into a 16x16x30 enclosure.
I have observed that females seem to feel safer and more relaxed in tighter quarters. They don't have the need or desire to patrol like the males do.
I would use your female veiled enclosure for a pair or trio of Melleri.

If you get a male, you're going to need a 24X24X48 at around 6 months anyways.
Since you shouldn't purchase a chameleon really younger than 3 months, especially if its your first time.. No matter what size baby cage you get, it will only really last 3-4 months.
If you go to cages.net and click on "Todays special value" they have an 18X23X11 that I like for $35.
But the best advice I can give you is to save the $35+Shipping, and considerable expense that feeding a baby cham can be.. and apply that money towards a 6-7 month old veiled. That way you only have to buy one cage, and you will have an animal that is well established.
Thanks for every ones help!! Ok so if I get a 6-7 month old male, he can live in a 24x24x48 enclosure for his entire life? If I get a 6-7 month old female she could live in a 16x16x30 for her entire life? What would be better for the female out of the 16x16x30 and the 18x23x11 ??
How do you drain the water out of the aluminum screened enclosures? How do you all make the drain holes?
