Keeping Humidity high enough

The humidity levels down low in the cage are perfect for our Jackson Chameleon but up high where he spends most of his time it is below 20% and I was told to keep it about 30 at least how can I keep the levels high enough for him? I know I have asked a lot of questions but I am just wanting to make sure that we are doing everything right for Our little guy :) Also I mist every 3-4 hours and run a fogger every 3-4 hours as well for about 15-20 min.. Any input on how to keep the humidity up would be great! Thanks in advance!!

Fasten a sheet or plastic to one or 2 sides.. It will maintain airflow and still boost up the humidity quite a bit. :D

As gratefulj indicated; enclosing a side or two with non-porous material (cut shower curtain, foam board, etc.) would help. Plants also help.

What is the temp up high? Relative humidity is going to be much lower at higher temps when compared to lower temps even if the quantity of moisture in the air is the same.

For example: if you have 45% humidity at 68 degrees down low the relative humidity would be about 20% in a 90 degree basking spot with the same ammount of moisture in the air. It takes quite a bit of moisture to get higher humidity in the higher temp areas of an enclosure.

His basking spot sits at about 75-85 (I need to get a digital temp thing.) And I need to get one for down lower too because I have only one of each gage and I am thinking two would be better so I can see the temps down low and the temps up high same with the humidity as well..

If your basking spot is 80 degrees and 20% rh then the lower part of your enclosure is probably around 30% rh (if temps are about 68 degrees). I'm not an expert on Jacksons but probably need to bump that up a bit.

I'd cover a side or two as others have suggested then, if you don't have one already, get a digital temp/rh meter. Those dial meters for humidity can be way off. Once you know what your getting with the side cover and good measurement tool then you can mess with getting more moisture in (if its even needed).

Thanks I just covered the back of his cage and I am going to see how that works and then in the next 24 hours if it still hasn't gone up then I will be covering one of the sides as well to see if that does anything.. Thanks for the information!!
