Recently my cham started having some twitching issues. After a vet visit its clear that he had MBD, long story short don't buy chams from your typical pet store (petsmart). The vet diagnosed him with a failing kidney.
Tuesday was the vet visit and since then I have been instructed to give him liquid calcium in hopes of the small chance he can bounce back.
Since then he hasn't gotten any better but hasnt gotten any worse. Mind you he is in pretty bad condition. He doesn't move around much, I'm thinking just to maintain temperature. is still twitching. Not eating or drinking and also is weak. He does still have a little fight in him when administering meds, so thats a good sign.
I am looking for suggestions on keeping him as comfortable as possible and although his chances are slim, maybe even a recovery. I don't want him to suffer more then he is and am looking for ways to make the last of what he has enjoyable.
Currently he is not eating or drinking, although I am following his meds with water to keep him hydrated. He spends about 3 hours outside in natural sunlight since diagnosis, figured fresh air and natural sunlight won't hurt. Also about 20 min in the shower every day a little before sun down. aside from that everything else remains the same.
