jojackson New Member Feb 7, 2011 #2 Cleaning the bucket! You might keep it away from direct light too, this will slow algae growth but not prevent it. Definitely dont use chemical algaecide.

J JackP308 Avid Member Feb 7, 2011 #3 air stones and air pumps work good . Find them fairly cheap at fish supply or gardening places.
